TCC’s Head of Culture, Olivia Fahy, is in FT Adviser this month discussing whether the dawn of hybrid working, with its innate flexibility, offers a unique opportunity for business leaders to drive forward Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
She argues:
- While EDI has been on the agenda for a while now, the FS sector hasn’t made the progress needed for real change – and the regulator is starting to take action.
- The pandemic had a disproportionately negative impact on women and people of colour, highlighted disparities and widened inequality. Combined with other global social movements, businesses can no longer afford to ignore EDI.
- Business leaders need to consider these realities as they begin planning a return to the office, offering a flexible approach that offers the same access and opportunities for all employees.
- This also presents an opportunity for businesses to expand their talent pool and leverage the benefits of a diverse workforce with diverse experiences. For example, a move to hybrid working may attract job applicants from other areas of the country, or may encourage parents to return to the workforce full-time.
